1. I have really been leaning towards the topic of low cost nail salons and my question about them is why are they so cheap? When I was in school learning how to do nails my instructor gave us a handout on the alleged products that are used to perform nail enhancements. I ripped my own nails off as soon as I read the article! I could see why they could offer their nail services at a highly discounted price and I also understood how their product was superior to what everyone else was using. I know my audience would be interested in learning about this topic because everyone knows someone who has had their nails done in one of these nail shops. This is also why this topic would relate to my audience’s experience.
2. The purpose of my research and writing is to inform my audience of the products being used in the discount nail salons. Since I am a licensed Nail Technician in New York and here in Arizona I will definitely be using this research to educate my current clients and also my potential clients. When writing about this topic I need to keep in mind who I am writing to. I want to be able to write a good research paper for educational reasons but I also want to be able to use this paper after this class is completed. I eventually want to take portions of my research and make a brochure to present to my clients. So I need to keep my audience in mind.
