D#2, HW#3 - How have you conducted research before?

1. I had to research airline flights for my daughters to fly back down here from vactioning in NY. I'm on a tight budget so I wanted to find the lowest priced flight that would allow my youngest daughters (minors) to fly with my 14 year old daughter who was considered an adult passenger. I wanted to know what airline would offer me an affordable flight while still allowing my children to fly all together. I wanted to find out the unaccompanied minors policy for each airline I looked up. I also wanted a non-stop flight or a flight with just one stop.

2. It involved me, my children, and my grandmother since she helped me pay for the tickets. I conducted the research by myself.

3. I went online to specific websites for several different airlines. I also went to hotwire.com, expedia.com, and travelocity.com. I asked my daughters input as to what times they would like to fly and on which airline. One of the airlines offered DirecTV in all the seats! I also gathered information about this specific airline by asking my family and friends back home if they had ever flown with them.

4. I decided to go with JetBlue since it left early in the morning and because they offered DirecTV which my girls loved! They basically chose this one for me.

5. We considered all options since there were pros and cons to each choice. Time wasn't a factor.

6. With each reservation made the website gave me the option of emailing and faxing the itinerary to several people. This was very helpful since my family were going to be the ones to take my daughters to the airport.
